Accessibility
HoundCheck should work for everyone.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, level AA. These guidelines help make websites easier to use for people with disabilities and different access needs.
What we have added
For keyboard and motor access
The main controls can be reached and used without a mouse. Focus is clearly marked, and a skip link lets you move past repeated navigation. On the consent form, you can type your name instead of drawing a signature if that's easier.
For screen readers
Pages use clear headings, landmarks, form labels and meaningful names for controls. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
For low vision and colour blindness
Text and controls are checked for WCAG AA colour contrast. Important information is not shown by colour alone, and the layout works when text is enlarged.
For dyslexia, ADHD and cognitive access
We use plain language, short sections, predictable navigation, generous spacing and clear error messages. Unnecessary motion is removed when your device requests reduced motion.
How we check it
Key public and signed-in screens are automatically checked for accessibility problems whenever the app changes. We also test keyboard use, visible focus and different screen sizes.
This includes the booking request form and the consent form customers fill in directly, checked all the way through to completion, since these forms matter most for anyone using a screen reader, a keyboard alone, or assistive technology.
So far this has been checked with automated tools, not yet by people who use assistive technology day to day.
If you use a screen reader or other assistive technology and hit a problem, we especially want to hear about it, since it helps us find what automated tools miss.
Tell us about a problem
Email us and describe the page, what you were trying to do and what made it difficult. We will treat accessibility problems as product issues, not optional requests.
If a page or form doesn't work with your browser, device or assistive technology, contact us and we'll help you complete it another way, for example over the phone.
